In the winter of 1777, Washington took his troops to winter in Valley Forge, PA. It was a difficult experience for the soldiers, who suffered from food and clothing shortages, diseases, as well as intense training, drilling, and military discipline. Washington used this experience to make his men physically and mentally tough, and the ones that made it through emerged as a leaner, tougher, and stronger fighting force. This was the winter that Washington's men transformed from farmers to soldiers. Kind of like Rocky in Rocky IV. Just watch...and enjoy.
